Looking Back

Genesis 19:26 (New International Version)
26 But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

We all sin. We all make mistakes. There isn't one person on earth who doesn't. It's in our nature. We are giving a choice to make. Do we stay on the path of righteousness? Or do we follow Satan down the path of damnation.

Reading this passage today during my daily bible reading I realized that like Lot's wife I too look into my past at the mistakes that I have made. I shape my choices based on those mistakes. This passage taught me that in order to live in the light of Christ I have to quit looking behind me and instead focus on the path ahead of me. If you constantly look behind you, you will trip on the path in front of you.
